Our lovely landlord Karen and her team over at Dudley St is currently trying to raise funds to renovate an education studio in the Birmingham Open Media Gallery. Here’s a note from her to explain a little more about it and we’d love it if you could help them reach their goal!
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
BOM has just 5 days left to raise £1,500 to renovate a new education studio that will give us additional space to run skills-share events with creative technology, as well as a much needed production space for the BOM Fellows, artists, scientists and technologists to work together. And we need you to help us raise vital funds to enhance and improve this space! You can make a real difference to what we we can achieve by donating a pound (or five!) Otherwise, please help us spread the word through your networks. We would be enormously grateful for whatever support you can provide.
This is BOM’s very first crowd funder and is such an important development for us. The new space will host a new young people’s network, creative coding workshops and STEAM education programmes with schools (including those falling in the worst 5% for multiple deprivation), FE and HE. It will also be used as new fabrication space for artists, scientists and technologists developing truly innovative collaborative projects. If you need any further convincing, BOM Fellow Amy Martin has been tweeting #100Reasons to back our campaign highlighting some of the many brilliant things we plan to do in the space. I really value your help in spreading the word and helping us make this happen!
With Deepest Thanks,
Director BOM (Birmingham Open Media)
