A week away from UK Coffee Week™ and it’s time to remember that around 783 million people in the world do not have access to safe water – that’s roughly 1 in 10 of the world’s population. 2,000 children die every day as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation – more than malaria, TB and HIV combined Access to clean, safe water and good sanitation is a basic human right.
UK Coffee Week is working with Project Waterfall which aims to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in African coffee-growing countries. 100% of all funds raised from consumer donations will directly benefit this cause. The first project is providing clean water to communities in the Mbulu District of Tanzania in partnership with WaterAid.
Doing our part to raise funds….
Come and join us for a great coffee-tasting session with Simon and Arthur, our two head Baristas. They’ll go through the fantastic coffees we use in our Emporiums giving you a better understanding of how a true connoisseur experiences coffee. How to smell, taste and look at all the coffees plus they’ll explain exactly what we mean when we’re going on about when we talk of those subtle tastes, of apricot, chocolate or vanilla!
Join us on…
Monday 22nd April – Church Street 12pm
Wednesday 24th April – Jewellery Quarter 10am
Friday 26th April – Church Street 5:30pm
All you need to do is let any one of our Urbanistas know and we’ll sign you up!
Turn up, donate whatever you can and support Project Waterfall!
