We’re so sad to announce that our wonderful Peter is moving on to pastures new. Here’s a short goodbye from him, but it’s not really goodbye as we are of course going to make sure we stay in touch (a lot!)
“It was four years ago that I joined Urban Coffee Company. I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting upstairs having my interview with Hannah. Petrified. Back then it was just Church St and a small team of great people. How things have changed! Over those four years we’ve really grown up – both as a business and as people. I am so proud of everything we’ve achieved. I have met so many wonderful people.
Colleagues past and present whose dedication and commitment have helped us to create something which is more than just a business, something which has, and still is, changing Birmingham for the better, who paved the way for the independent coffee scene which is still growing in Birmingham. With Coventry opening in the next few weeks I am so excited to see what happens there too, I just know it’s going to be great.
If there is one thing I have found more inspiring than the commitment of the staff is the commitment of our great customers. You really are this city’s finest people! I am so pleased that I have had the chance of sharing your Monday morning grumbles and Friday morning smiles. I am very lucky to have met you all. My last day is Friday the 19th. If you are popping by please pop in and say hello.
To my bosses Hannah and Simon – thank you for all the opportunities and support over the past four years. What’s more thank you for being brave enough for starting to write this story in the first place. Thanks also go to everyone who makes Urban Coffee Company the fun, successful, and hilarious place to work that it is. Whether you’re queuing in front of the bar or serving behind it, whether you’re in the office or the kitchen, thank you for the last four years and good luck for the future. I can’t wait to see the story unfold!”
We wish him all the luck and love in the world!
